As we enter the month of March, we’re refreshing our Takeover Tuesday offerings – this time welcoming the boys from Cork city-based Franciscan Well.
They pride themselves on being the 0ldest established craft brewery in Ireland, having set themselves up back in 1998.
The brewery was founded on the North Mall in Cork City and is built on the site of an old Franciscan monastery and well dating back to the year 1219. Legend has it that water from the well had miraculous and curative properties, and people would come from afar to drink from it.
Test their hypothesis in Bethnal Green every Tuesday at £3 a pop. Their Rebel Red, Chieftan IPA, Friar Weisse amongst others will be making their way onto our taps.
