We’re getting 2019 off to a flyer here at The Sun, with a brand-new Whiskey Wednesday to get us going this time featuring Glenfiddich’s experimental IPA cask.
In their first groundbreaking experiment, Glenfiddich’s Brian Kinsman collaborated with a local Speyside craft brewer to create a bold and zesty IPA beer to imbue their rich oak casks with extra hoppy notes. The experiment resulted in the first single malt Scotch whisky ever finished in craft IPA casks.
This pioneering whisky is notable for unique zesty citrus notes and the subtle tang of fresh hops. The flavour comes with carefully hand selecting the right malt whiskies to complement the extra hoppy notes.
And our serves for the month have been designed to complement these zesty notes and showcase the sweetness of the whisky, with plenty of citrus featured throughout. One of the line-up, the Tam O’Shanter, has been inspired by Burns’ Night which is coming up towards the end of the month (25th).
