Review: LCW House Party Series

Miraculously, not a single one of our eleven guest bartenders missed their flights, no hotel rooms were destroyed and only one bed was broken.

This London Cocktail Week was our busiest yet, with a series of five events under our ‘LCW House Party Series’ offering free Yard Sale Pizza, £6 cocktails all night and some of our favourite bartenders from around the world.

We kicked off on Sunday with Moe and AJ (Two Schmucks) on the bar with Simon and Jake (Present Company). There were champagne laybacks and Woodford Reserve body shots and somewhere a video exists of Jake making a daiquiri while blindfolded. He did surprisingly well.

On Monday we welcomed Yael (Spare Room) and Christine (Broken Shaker) all the way from LA for blended drinks, glittered garnishes, and a light up leotard. Drinks came courtesy of Bacardi and Santa Teresa rums with Drew McConnell (Babyshambles) on the decks.

Tuesday was all about agave as we celebrated Tequila Patrón with Benja and Pablo (Limantour) the day after they were named 10th Best Bar in The World with tunes courtesy of house favourite Anne Frankenstein. Felicitations amigos!

Through bleary eyes we watched as Iain Griffiths (Supernova Ballroom), Mary Allison Wright and McClain Hedges (both of RiNo Yacht Club) dazzled everyone in their sights with a Co2 charged pre bottled Bombay Sapphire concoction… which exploded all over our newly painted ceiling. No hard feelings as Pam Hogg took to the decks, pizza in hand.

And finally, on Sunday, we closed down London Cocktail Week with a not-so-traditional Tullamore Dew Hooley with a live Irish band and the team sick of the sight of pizza, and all sworn to sobriety, until Monday.
