Music
Music is pretty important to us at The Sun Tavern
It beats in our heart and flows through our beer taps. We’re steeped in non-specific Rock ’n’ Roll – from Fats Domino to The Fat White Family and all that’s in between, and have had friends old and new stop by over the years to help enforce our broad manifesto.
DJ's
Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
We have resident DJs every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, spinning Rock ‘n’ Roll right up till 2am, ensuring our weekends are sufficiently raucous.
Umbrella Radio hold their monthly takeover, Non-Specific, any given Thursday of the month, inviting guest DJs to show us their take on non-specific Rock ‘n’ Roll – we’ve been paid visits from guests as diverse as Pam Hogg, Carl Barât (The Libertines), Goat Girl, Yeasayer, Huey Morgan, Don Letts, Brix Smith-Start (The Fall), Andy Bell (Oasis, Ride) and Suggs, whose acapella rendition of It Must Be Love was a spinetingly uplifting moment.
Live Music
Sunday and Monday Evenings
Sunday and Monday evenings, we have live music from the many musicians we have pass through our doors. Sundays see upbeat Jazz vibes from our Sunday residents, seeing out the last breaths of the weekend in the boisterous fashion it deserves.
Mondays are a little more laidback, with local songsmiths stopping by, pulling up a pew, and regaling all and sundry with a mix of their own songs and those of others. Regulars to swing by are Irish journey-man Pat Dam-Smyth and Yorkshire songstress Heidi R Gowthorpe .

They’ve also been releasing podcasts for The Sun Tavern for over three years.
